Arizona PBS/Cronkite News: ‘She’s got a part of us with her’: Donor family confident son’s heart is in the right place
This article earned me 6th place in the prestigious Hearst Journalism Awards Program within the Personality/Profile Section in 2021. It details the story of an ASU student’s journey in the face of two cardiac arrest incidents and eventually a heart transplant. Additionally, I spoke with the family of the heart transplant and their relationship with the heart recipient. This was one of the most difficult pieces of writing I have ever had to compose.

I uploaded this article quickly after the conclusion of the game between the Sun Devils and the Beavers.
This is one of the pieces I wrote while working with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC within its Communications department. This was my capstone article which detailed the relationship the Riverhounds professional players had with the youth development academy players. This article details the atypical relationship between the two groups. Additionally, the article explains the level of care the Hounds players had in assisting the next generation of youth soccer players and how it was vital to their everyday work.
